We welcome new players to the club, contact one of the committee members to find out how to join. Clifton Hill competes in the Eastern Cricket Association (ECA), the largest cricket league in Melbourne.
Seeking playing/non playing club coach for 2008/09 season
Clifton Hill Cricket Club is seeking applicants for the role as club coach for season 2008/2009. In 2007/08, Clifton Hill fielded 5 senior sides, 10 junior sides and conducted a successful Milo Cricket program.
Competing in the synthetic division of the Eastern Cricket Association, we play in an attractive inner city location on the best ground in the competition. This will be complemented by a new pavilion in the next 12 –24 months
Dear Member / Supporter, Following December's community meeting, where there was much opposition to new rooms being built on the north-east corner of the ground, last night council presented an alternative plan to build new rooms on the site of the current pavilion. There was minimal opposition to these plans which are similar to the previous and importantly have 4 change rooms (which open up), a social room, and increased storage space. As a club we have some minor issues with some other aspects of the plan but we will meet with council in the next few weeks to put forward these concerns. This new plan is now the preferred option of the council and after the plans are agreed upon (hopefully all stakeholders have agreed on them within a month) these plans will finally go through the official planning process which takes approximately 6 weeks. The council assume that there will be minimal opposition due to the community consultation which has occurred over the past 2 months. Also, the council have agreed to support the club throughout the period of time we don't have rooms. They will provide us with either the use of Yambla soccer pavilion and/ or provide portables for us to ensure we can continue to have social functions plus adequate room for storage. Regards, Paul Connors President
