The CHCC Senior Women's Journey
Life at CHCC changed for the better in the 2017/18 season with the introduction of a women’s team, which not only serves women players but created a much need pathway for the junior girls.
The Club knew at its heart that there needed to be diversity and opened the welcome door. It was touch and go at the outset – could we side a team? what competition? Ralph Saubern organised the community for a month of masterclasses and the rest, as they say, is history.
As part of the North Metro competition we fronted up to our first game at Donath in our uniforms with a team of – yep we did it – 11. Nerves a plenty we won our first game and managed in our first season to come third overall. Our second season saw a win that defied all odds.
After two and half successful seasons we had enough players to set up a second team. There is always room for more players.
We play in the first and second division of North Metro.
