Hi Friends of the CHCC!The cricket season is nearly upon us. Below is an update of some of our movements in the off season. I’d like to thank the committee who have already done some great work
We were pleased to announce Dave Wright as the senior coach for the season ahead and the reappointment of Ben Caplikas for our junior program. We are currently advertising and exploring coaching for our junior girls and womens teams. Supporting our junior program is once again a priority and we are taking expressions of interest for coaches of our junior teams this year. If you are interested in taking on a junior coaching role please contact Ben (0479 109 654) or Georgia (0409 229 930).
Thanks to the terrific work from Adam Lewis and Ralph Saubern CHCC has been able to secure three major sponsors for the coming season. We welcome on board FIIG, CAST Professionals and Message Media Group.
CHCC would also like to thank the ongoing support we receive from Bendigo Community Bank, Adlink and Saxon Sports
CHCC is hoping to field two womens teams this season. Both Sharon Lynas and Ralph Saubern continue to do a terrific job in this growing area. Womens cricket is an important area of development for our club and creates a not only a pathway for our junior girls but also a stronger footprint with our community.
We are pleased to announce Peter Foster is coming over from the UK. We also welcome the return of Keith Thompson also from the UK. Please spread the word for whoever you know particularly for our junior and womens cricket programs. All are welcome.
Code of Conduct
We have been further developing a club-wide code of conduct for all of our club representatives – players, parents, spectators and other club representatives. This document tries to capture the responsibilities that we all have at all times when representing our club. It will be available on the web-site in the coming weeks.
The junior opening day is on Saturday the 16/9 at Ramsden St. Committee members will be there to welcome juniors and parents and we will have a Buy-Swap-Sell for junior and senior gear. Clothing for the coming season will also be able to be ordered and a sausage sizzle and games for the kids will run.
Social Calendar and Facilities
We expect to finalise our social calendar in the coming weeks. This will be placed online and emailed out to all members. Our social events are more than fund raisers. They are an opportunity to connect as a community and develop strong relationships which strengthen the club and add to our over prosperity.
We are also working on creating more opportunities for socialising at our club, working on facilities and amenities throughout the season so that all friends of the club feel welcome and are able to have an enjoyable time at the club.
The strategic plan is now on the website. It outlines the focus for the club for the coming years and has been welcomed by our sponsors and the City of Yarra.
If you have any ideas, questions or opinions they are more than welcome. Please feel free to contact me on 0414 909 318 or firstname.lastname@example.org
