The CHCC Women's XI have stormed into their first ever grand final with a win over a very competitive Donath team.
Donath won the toss and batted, making a strong start until Clifton Hill took two wickets in two balls and started reeling them in. After 30 overs, Donath had made 5/134. Pick of the bowlers was Rachel Jones with 2/21 off 6 overs.
In reply, Clifton Hill started well but found themselves 3/59 at the half way point. With four overs to go, Clifton Hill were 5/116, still needing 19 runs, but achieved the winning score in the last over! Jules Cole scored 49 not out and guided the team home to victory.
Next Sunday, Clifton Hill will play the Dennis Dragonettes, who are undefeated so far in the summer season.
The game is at 9am at Hayes Park East in Thornbury, Sunday 4 March. Let's get as many people down and cheer our women on in their historic first grand final.
