Celebrating 300, 400 & 500 Games
Roady (L) and Empty (R) before their milestone games
Clifton Hill Cricket Club was privileged to celebrate the 300th game of Stephen ‘Cottsy’ Cotter, 400th game of Ian ‘Roady’ Roadnight and 500th game of Andrew ‘Empty’ Lanning all in the same weekend. All three players are life members and have been actively involved in the club on the committee, coaching juniors and playing for in excess of 20 years. It was fitting that all three players achieved their milestones at the same time and we were able to celebrate them together. Empty, who is the first player to reach 500 games for Clifton Hill, is the current games record holder of the club whilst Roady sits second on this list (and is obviously second to 400 games behind Empty). Cottsy is the fourth CHCC player to reach the 300 game milestone. On behalf of the committee, players and members we would like to congratulate all three players on such a monumental achievement.
Bearing in mind that PlayHQ does not have up to date statistics due to a range of factors, each players approximate stats are listed below:
Stephen Cotter - 300 matches, 9000 runs and 360 wickets
Ian Roadnight - 400 matches, 9386 runs, 347 wickets
Andrew Lanning - 500 matches, over 6500 runs and over 550 wickets
The club will be holding a small celebration on Saturday the 14th of February at Ramsden St Reserve. Cottsy will be playing on the day in the 1st XI fixture whilst Roady and Empty will be in attendance as the 5th XI have a bye. CHCC invites all current and past players to attend to celebrate their achievements.
